- One has to make the masala aloo same as we make for masala dosa. Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds, when they splutter add Masalas mentioned and stir to avoid burning. Now add boiled and mashed potato. Mix well n let it cook well.
- When it’s cooled down enough to handle, roll a little portion to shape it as a log
- Now heat up the idli steamer by adding little water, and place a stand at the bottom. Grease the glass generously
- Pour just a spoon of idli batter and place aloo masala roll in the center and pour a ladle full of batter over it.
- Carefully place this glass(or glasses if making more) in the steamer over the stand and close the lid.
- Keep the flame to low and let it steam for 15-20 minutes as we do fr idli Switch off the flame and take it out when it’s slightly cooled down.
- Run a sharp knife around the edges to take it out and keep them in a plate
- Now prepare seasoning Take little oil Add mustard seeds When they crackle add curry patta and 4 tbsp of gunpowder, podi or idli chutney powder
- Let the rolls smear in that nicely and evenly
- Take them out and cut into the discs and serve hot with coconut chutney Can be a good starter in your party 😀
